Two weeks ago, week before we went to Anza Borrego, we went up to Big Bear with our dear friends the Rank family. Violet & Hailey have known each other since birth. And Tracy and I have been friends for probably 20 years now. I just love this picture of the kids watching the snow fall. We were so lucky to have snow all weekend. Violet got to try out snow skiing for the first time, with her dad.
The kids all had a great time playing in the snow, and we all pitched in and made this friendly snowman! Well, actually I was in the house with Olivia (she wasn't crazy about being "cold")
Only in California can you be in 2 ft snow one weekend and warm desert the next! Gotta love it!

Last weekend we camped out at Anza Borrego, in CA in hopes of seeing the wildflowers. Apparently, they do not blossom every year. It is dependent on the amount of rainfall, temperature, etc. So we did not see the beautiful flowers you see on their website, however, we saw some beautiful skies, the ocotillos in bloom, and my daughter was able to see the Borrego (the big horn sheep) with dad on a 1.5 mi. hike up to the oasis, which includes a waterfall. They also have a wonderful Visitor's Center which has a very informative and interesting Nature Lab. My children loved it. They also have a Jr Ranger program, and lots of educational sessions for adults as well.
