Last weekend we camped out at Anza Borrego, in CA in hopes of seeing the wildflowers. Apparently, they do not blossom every year. It is dependent on the amount of rainfall, temperature, etc. So we did not see the beautiful flowers you see on their website, however, we saw some beautiful skies, the ocotillos in bloom, and my daughter was able to see the Borrego (the big horn sheep) with dad on a 1.5 mi. hike up to the oasis, which includes a waterfall. They also have a wonderful Visitor's Center which has a very informative and interesting Nature Lab. My children loved it. They also have a Jr Ranger program, and lots of educational sessions for adults as well.
